NEW YORK (Reuters) - Former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover had a plan in 1950 to suspend the right to habeas corpus and imprison some 12,000 Americans he suspected of disloyalty, The New York Times reported on their web site on Saturday. Hoover wanted President Harry Truman to proclaim the mass arrests necessary to "protect the country against treason, espionage and sabotage" and sent the plan to the White House 12 days after the start of the Korean War, the Times reported, citing a newly declassified document. There is no evidence to suggest Truman or any other president approved any part of Hoover's proposal. According to the Hoover plan, the FBI would "apprehend all individuals potentially dangerous" to national security.

WASHINGTON — Air Force weapons officers assigned to secure nuclear warheads failed on five occasions to examine a bundle of cruise missiles headed to a B-52 bomber in North Dakota, leading the plane’s crew to unknowingly fly six nuclear-armed missiles across the country. The Air Force said Friday it would punish 70 airmen involved in the accidental flight following an investigation that found widespread disregard for the rules on handling such munitions. [NOTE] This story didn't come to our attention until today {11|17|07} and we were taken back by the ramifications. Just so you know, we've discovered the that this flight "was not" that routine - it came on the heals of many others warning that something big - like a nuclear bomb - would give the government a reason to put us in these concentration camps. Praise the LORD, they didn't pull it off. And BTW - stuff like this is always denied by the military and government. Do you suppose those on baord knew of this plot and just said no ???

The committee is investigating the country's past incidents and began looking into the kidnapping of Kim, who later became the country's president, in 2005. Since then, the committee has questioned former KCIA officials, including Kim Dong Un, then first secretary of the South Korean Embassy in Tokyo. His fingerprints were found at the hotel room where Kim Dae Jung was abducted.

WASHINGTON — Some time between now and 2010, the U.S. government expects some uninvited guests -- a massive influx of undocumented immigrants. In preparation for their arrival, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) backed the National Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, which mandates 40,000 new beds and barracks for foreign-born refugees at four undisclosed locations over the next five years. On Jan. 3, 2006, the Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) expanded an existing contract held by Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) and renewed it to accommodate up to 20,000 refugees from environmental and political disasters. A future expansion in 2008 calls for another 20,000 beds.

WASHINGTON, Feb. 3 — The Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a contract worth up to $385 million for building temporary immigration detention centers to Kellogg Brown & Root, the Halliburton subsidiary that has been criticized for overcharging the Pentagon for its work in Iraq. KBR would build the centers for the Homeland Security Department for an unexpected influx of immigrants, to house people in the event of a natural disaster or for new programs that require additional detention space, company executives said. KBR, which announced the contract last month, had a similar contract with immigration agencies from 2000 to last year.

The Rex 84 Program was established on the reasoning that if a "mass exodus" of illegal aliens crossed the Mexican/US border, they would be quickly rounded up and detained in detention centers by FEMA. Rex 84 allowed many military bases to be closed down and to be turned into prisons.

At stake is the viability of the 1992 JFK Assassination Records Act, which mandates the immediate review, and release of all government records related to Kennedy's murder in Dallas on November 22, 1963. One of the strongest open government measures ever enacted, the future of the JFK Act is now in question as the CIA seeks judicial permission to defy its provisions.

At a post-trial hearing Tuesday for Ali al-Timimi, a Muslim cleric from Virginia sentenced to life in prison in 2004 for soliciting treason, U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema said she can no longer trust the CIA and other government agencies on how they represent classified evidence in terror cases. Attorneys for al-Timimi have been seeking access to documents. They also want to depose government witnesses to determine whether the government improperly failed to disclose the existence of certain evidence.
