By GLEN FAISON, THE PORTERVILLE RECORDER
A Porterville woman, allegedly in the country illegally after having already been deported, was jailed Tuesday on drug-related charges when a search of her home yielded narcotics paraphernalia, $15,000 in cash and some suspected methamphetamine.
Graciela Barrios, 45, is being held at the Bob Wiley Detention Facility without bail, the Porterville Police Department reports.
Detectives with the department's Special Investigations Unit served a search warrant Tuesday in the 800 block of East Putnam Avenue, where Barrios was reportedly detained.
Detectives report locating suspected methamphetamine packaged for sale, narcotics paraphernalia and material typically associated with the sale of drugs, including scales.
The $15,000 is believed to be proceeds from the sale of drugs, police report.
Barrios was arrested on suspicion of methamphetamine sales and maintaining a residence where controlled substances were sold. Police report Barrios is also a deported felon -- having been removed from the country after a drug-related offense -- and was back in the country illegally.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials are having Barrios held without bail, police report.
