A shooting victim was air-lifted to the hospital in what could turn out to be Lindsay's second homicide in just eight days.
Sgt. Jerry Martinez said police were dispatched to a shooting at a Lindsay home at 7:17 p.m. Monday evening.
“We responded to a reported gunshot victim and found a male juvenile was struck by a bullet,” Martinez said.
The victim was shot in front of a home at in the 700 block of Bellah Avenue.
The condition of the victim was unknown Monday night, but Martinez said he was taken by helicopter to Kern Medical Center.
Police taped off Bellah Avenue at Tulare Road where four Lindsay patrol units, at least one unmarked detective vehicle and one Woodlake Police car were stationed.
At the crime scene, officers scanned the front porch and yard with flashlights and took pictures of the hands and feet of at least one male subject.
At about 9 p.m., Martinez said police had no suspects in this case and no witnesses had been identified.
Last week Hermengildo Pena, 43, of Lindsay, died at Sierra View District Hospital, nearly 12 hours after he was shot twice at a home in the 300 block of Santa Fe Avenue.
Prior to Pena's death Lindsay had not experienced a homicide since November 2003.
Monday night's shooting remains under investigation by the Lindsay Public Safety Department.
