Police today arrested a second suspect in a recent string of attempted child abductions, Porterville Police Department Sgt. Duanne Griffin said.

The man, whose name was not released, was arrested on eastbound Highway 190 just east of Plano Street.

Detective Bryan Clower, Sgt. Mike Blain and Capt. Steve Schnars were at the scene securing the man shortly after 2 p.m. The vehicle, a deep-brown older model Ford LTD, was towed away.
