The Tulare County Gang Prevention Task Force is hosting a gang summit Dec. 6 at the Visalia Convention Center.

The summit is designed for everyone who shares a concern about gang activity in Tulare County.

County District Attorney Phil Cline, Sheriff Bill Wittman and Visalia Police Chief Bob Carden will give the opening speech.

Lunch will include a feature presentation by U.S. Attorney McGregor Scott and Paul Seave, state director of Gang and Youth Violence Policy. Breakout sessions will focus on best practices, school safety and how businesses can become involved in law enforcement.

The summit is from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Visalia Convention Center, 303 Acequia Ave. It is sponsored by the Tulare County Board of Supervisors and the City of Visalia.
