† OPINION : 10-21-07 [ -- AMERICAN BANKSTER's Lovin' AMERICAN GANGSTER's -- ]
It's all about the Money -- and both these Pranksers know this to be a fact. From the early James Cagney flicks, through the God Fathers, Scare Face, Carlito, Blood In and Blood out, Hollywood found a way to produce movies that would return a profit.
Using back-door tools called "Creative License" and "Public Demands", these AMERICAN FILMSTER's convinced AMERICAN PRODUCER's that their product was worth the support, especially when the FILM-MAKER's found a cast that was award-winning actors.
To heck with the truth and the real story, as long as we can sell it - get a good return and convince the AMERICAN public this is what they really want. And, it's a reflection {according to Hollywood} of what the public really believes {oh please ...}.
So ... it's not really Hollywoods fault because the public paid them to make these horrible movies. It's all our fault -- really ! And trust me folks, that little bit of reverse-psychology from Hollywood has worked on you guys for years ... including you Christians {sic}.
Every once-in-a-while someone down in L.A. gets it. Universal Studio's {early on} had a chance to tell the story about Chicago's drug dealer Frank Lucas, and put this movie on the big screen but dropped it. For what ever reason - contracts vs profits - they lost interest.
Picking up the pace on the T.V. series BET will contiune to offer the public, what they think the public wants, even to the point of adding more stories about local gangsta's and gang stories -- including the imfamous Frank Lucas.
SIDE NOTE : Just a few days ago it was reported at beliefnet.com that one of the lead actors in AMERICAN GANGSTER - Denzel Washington - was listed as Hollywoods Top Ten Most Powerfull Christians. Well, guess what ... I didn't know that either. He really did such a great job of acting, all these years, that many of us didn't have a clue.
So, I go and do a little Google on the man and really had a hard time finding stuff about his Christian beliefs or Christian stances on issues that matter to most Chrisitians. What I discovered, was he is no different than many Hollywood Christians - in that he's an actor first ... then a Christian.
Oh yeah, you can see he's got a lot of good films out there, and he's making a lot of money {key word}, but where are his Christian convictions. Where are the T.V. interviews with him saying that this role that he's playing a drug dealer, is one that he had to do. No ... you won't find those anywhere. This role was one he chose !!! As a matter of fact the closet you will find him doing anything Christian, regarding this movie, is that he helped buy a house for this low-life drug dealer. As far as I'm concerned, DW is in it for the money - about the same as 50 cent.
And get this ... Denzel Washington did say in some of his interviews that he didn't want the role of Martin Luther King Jr., because he did want to be type-casted as a Christian in Hollywood. But, he did choose to play the part of Malcom X. Yes he played the role great and I bet he could have played MLK even better. Sorry DW ... you can't have it both ways, but then again ... we let him and pay him a lot of money to entertain us.
Now, I'm not so much capping on DW as much as I want to reveal the truth about, GANGSTA's, GANGSTAWOOD and BANKSTA's. These guys know that they need to tap into our money and get us coming back to the movies. They will do all but tell the truth. The more money you have, the more you will spend -- either on the world or yourself. And they also know if you ever get it -- GANGSTAWOOD will be broke ... over night. And that's my point !
Denzel Washington, you are a great actor but you're not a great Christian. You have more fruit on the screen and in the bank then you have in Heaven. Please do us all a favor. Either take a stand for Christ {now that you're rich and famous} or take a stand against gangs and worldly influences by refusing to do these movies. Please ... you're not doing GOD any favors by hiding your light in GANGSTAWOOD.
The same can be said of Jay-Z, Gangsta Rap Star / Christian / Gay-guy, and his CD compilation of the movie, AMERICAN GANGSTER. Doing a little google on Jay-Z leads you to a lot of his fruit as well, on CD's, clothes and a few movies as well. But the fruit you don't see too much is what he's storing up in Heaven. What he's trying to look's like is one of those "don't do" kind of a Christians. You know - the one's who don't do bad things or say bad things. Yeah ... I know, he can't even pull that on off {story}, especially with his so-called Christian girl friend Beyonce.
And BTW - the next time Beyonce's family goes on TBN to say that she a Christian, let them know your tied of their double standards as much as your tired of "Miss B's" double standards.
So ... I will continue to take a stand against any more gangster type movies that glorifies gangs or comes out of Hollywood. And I will continue to express the truth about the influence that the movie and music industry has on our youth. The side effects of these industries are too costly.
MORE GANGSTA MOVIES COMING
On the way, is another GANGSTA movie that will resemble one of the biggest Drug Cartel's in Mexico history - the Tijuana Cartel. And the funny thing about the early interviews with the films producer is ... he says it not about the Arellano Felix Organization, so ... it must be about making money.
The movie La Linea has a lot of resemblences to the real family and story. Knowing that film makers have shot many drug cartel's and kingpins movies {like Traffick} in Mexico and Tijiuana, to them ... it's about making money as well. To heck with the tarnish that will come from this next movie, just pay us up front ... to be quite.
BTW Mexico, thanks for joining America in this war on drugs. You know ... America is only sending more money down there to keep a lid on your agents -- not ours, so don't be fooled.

(10-24-07) THIS JUST IN - WORLDLY CHRISTIAN UP-DATE : It appears that -- {Christian when I need to look like a Christian} -- P Diddy has just cut a million dollar deal with a vodka company. And where will the profits from this fruit show up ? At TBN "again" or at Pastor Hezekiah's Church, where Diddy attends ? His mother said back in 2001 that she was looking forward to his new Gosple record, but never mentioned his latest money making scheme.
Folks ... I could go on and on but what's the point ? The point is this, these so-called "50 Cent Type Christians" are sending the wrong signal. And number two : the world is no longer convicted of sin ... because the "New Christian" approach to prosperity, or die trying. The world sees those in the business as hypocrits -- liers ... none-the-less, with little sence of sacrafice. It's all about the money !!!

AMERICAN GANGSTER : VIDEO GAME
On Nov 3rd -- as I was following up on addition feeds from the news sources regarding the movie American Gangster -- I saw this news release { Universal Pictures and Gameloft to Bring 'American Gangster' to Mobile Gamers } and was again taken back at all the money that this glorification of evil will be taking in. I'm sure everyone has their cut in this movie ... and no one single person or production industry will be stepping up to accept the blame for any future consequenses as a result of this movie -- and now video game.
How about this Hollywood ? How about we levy a tax or glean a royalty on each gangsta movie that is produced -- like the tobacco industry -- and put that funding into an account for the victims of gangster type crimes. This is what our politicians should be campainging about. Why ? I'm gald you asked.
If Hollywood wants us all to believe that we're all adults, then we all need to do the adult thing and that's being responsible with our decisions ! If our decisions of whay we say -- like the "N-Word" or the "B-Word" or the H-Word -- cause harm to someone {as we now acknowledge} then we all need to pay up-front ... so the vitims of our "Adults-Choices" will be fairly compensated.
Hollywood and the whole industry knows this is coming and they are trying to get theirs up front before all this hits the fan. The actors know this as well. Yeah ... if we were really all adults here, we would accept the consequences of our decisions.
