Gang Watchers : Press Release Section for 2005

12-01-05 : GANG WATCHERS MEET WITH PORTERVILLE’S MAYOR - Gang Watchers, on this day, met with Mayor Kelly West of Porterville to discuss items relating to gang activities. Knowing that gangs are on the rise and how to deal with them, initially was the agenda … until we all gathered and had Church. Mayor West, a life long Christian, was more interested in the stories that changed the lives of those who attended, including Mr. and Mrs. Saucedo. “Talk about a real life story of Romeo and Juliet. This couple, says Mayor West, is the exact replica of that famous story of love where two people from two different sides of life get together and determine to stay together … even unto death. And here’s how it breaks down; one who’s a Norteno (X4) and the other who’s a Soreno (X3) … fall in love, let JESUS CHRIST into their hearts, become born-again and are on their way to become better citizens. Now … Hollywood couldn’t write a better story.”

11-21-05 : GANG WATCHERS ACQUIRES CHURCH CHARTER - On November 8, 2005 Gang Watchers acquired a Church Charter to operate as a Ministry, giving it longer legs to walk the walk and larger hearts to love the lost. “Gang Watchers understands the Mission, says the founder and director, A.L.Lucketta. The heart must be moved by faith … first, because it’s already filled with fear. The good people in Porterville know we have a gang problem and know it’s not getting better.

10-28-05 : GANG WATCHERS LINK WITH GUARDIAN ANGELS - On October 22nd 2005, Gang Watchers linked with New York’s very own Guardian Angels with a simple phone call from it’s founder … Curtis Sliwa. Mr. Sliwa, who was setting up another chapter in Sacramento that day, gave the go ahead call to Gang Watchers founder and current president, A. L. “LUCKY” Lucketta, to link up and to start looking for an area captain for a central valley chapter for both Guardian Angels and Gang Watchers.

10-21-05 : GANG WATCHERS TO ASSIST WITH DINNER BENEFIT - On October 30th 2005, an important Benefit Dinner and Fundraiser will be held at the Elks Lodge in Porterville CA. This fundraiser will start at 2 pm and continue until everyone has a chance to have a great dinner and win some prizes. The proceeds of this dinner will be going to the Williams family to assist them with their daughter’s medical needs and reconstructing their home, making it environmentally safe for their daughter {Rachelle Williams} to live in.
