†   Welcome to Gang Watchers. Officially we were established on September 21 2005 when we posted this web site. Intitally were we gathering on a local blog called Porterville Gang Watchers. It is still in use today and hopefully {www.gangwatchers.org} will set one up soon for it's own needs and purposes.

    †   Not trying to re-invent the wheel, Gang Watchers {A Christian Neighborhood Watch Ministry} will be utilizing our connections with GOD in order to utilize our connections with our community. First and foremost, we believe that being a Christian {through JESUS CHRIST} is the best gang to belong to. Belonging to GOD gives you a greater sense of purpose, and direction. You'll know who you are and will not have the need to fit in just to find yourself.

    †   Our Mission is FIVE-FOLD : The first mission is to GOD. Without Him we are nothing and are prone to miss the mark. It’s His Goodness and Mercy which allows us into His Presence, creating a desire to change for the better. GW’s also desire GOD’s best for those who do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ. And, yes, GW’s desire this for gang banger’s as well. Second, GW’s will work with local Churches in their efforts with directing gang bangers to GOD. Third, GW’s will work with local authority’s to develop Gang Watchers into a neighborhood watch ministry that is effective in decreasing gang activity throughout the city. Fourth, GW’s will petition legislators to move forward with the “3 Bust’s and It’s On” legislative proposal, drafted on August 27, 2005. And finally, GW’s will move forward to initiate a “3 Bust’s and It’s On” people’s proposition if our leaders in Sacramento miss the mark in their efforts.

    †   Our PRAYER is SINGLE : That those who claim affiliation with gangs or a gang lifestyle would affiliate with the Creator of all beings in order to change.

    †   Our MINISTRY is SIMPLE : To reach the youth of Porterville and the surrounding towns with the GOSPEL.

    †   Jesus, said in Matthew 11:28-30 {KJV} "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart : and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

    †   Today is the day to say yes ... to Jesus ... and to change !
